The Ramadan Offensive? Sorry for the lack of posts, but real (read: profit-making) life has been pretty busy lately. Anyhow, just wanted to pose the question: Given that Baghdad is seeing a "dramatic escalation in attacks" that has even led ally Spain to withdraw its personnel from the capital, and that these attacks coincide with the the Muslim Holy Month, am I the only one who would like to see someone explore the parallels and contrasts between the current situation and the "Tet Offensive" in Vietnam.

I'm not prejudging this, but the Spanish move seems to put the lie to the Bush administration's insistence that people on the ground are aware of how much better things are going than the US media is reporting. I'd like to see someone at least entertain the comparison, and debunk it if necessary.
